Indonesian Culture and Tourism Minister Jero Wwacick called o n the country's blogging community to help promote Indonesia's tourist destinations to foreigners. In a prepared speech read for him by a tourism official at the weekend's blogger's party - Pesta Blogger II, in Jakarta.
He said the internet is ubiquitous and could serve as an effective tool to promote tourism here. "Today, almost all human activities are closely linked to online media. The internet is necessary for advancing the mission of promoting tourism,"he said in the speech, adding that he hoped bloggers from foreign countries like Australia, the USA, and Malaysia attending the Jakarta event would also join the effort.
Cahyana an official the Communication and Information Ministry, said the use of live online journals had developed from "blogfun" to "blogpreneur" and could continue ti increase in significant".
